Kibbutz Magal Tour and Wandering Israeli Show
A private performance of "The Wandering Israeli" along with a visit to Kibbutz Magal, a hidden gem far off the tourist track midway between Tel Aviv and Haifa, is one of the most all-encompassing Israeli cultural experiences.
Although it's a tiny rural community, Kibbutz Magal has had one of the biggest impacts on worldwide agriculture with it’s acclaimed "Netafim" dripping irrigation systems. Magal is also producer of world-renowned olive oil manufactured from olives grown in the groves surrounding the Kibbutz. And, as a side note, Magal is also home to the creator of "The Wandering Israeli", Elad Shippony.
Elad fell in love with kibbutz life as a lone soldier on Kibbutz Mishmar Hasharon and ultimately settled down with his wife and three daughters on Kibbutz Magal. The kibbutz has had such a strong influence on the creation and realization of "The Wandering Israeli" that although Elad performs extensively across the country and around the world, he admits that performing on either of his Kibbutz homes, "Is extra special since I get to share not only my stories, but also my home."
A visit to Magal begins with a stroll along the verdant pathways of the kibbutz, often running into a cheerful group of kindergarten kids on their daily walk. Along with intriguing kibbutz stories, Magal also offers an impressive visit to the "Netafim" plant and greenhouse park, "Masik" olive oil visitor center, and the "Tlamim" animal center for the treament of disabled children. And, if your group has an extra hour to explore, the Kibbutz tour can include a visit to a neighboring Arab village.
After absorbing this special Kibbutz atmosphere, the group is treated to a private performance of "The Wandering Israeli" where they'll get to experience a theatrical version of the country they are visiting, including stories from the very Kibbutz they are on!
This unique Israeli Kibbutz experience concludes with lunch at the communal dining hall, where a hearty portion of lively chatter is served fresh daily.
